Both doors can turn a rear wall into a full garden opening, but they behave differently once fitted and lived with.
Bifold and sliding doors are the two main options when a kitchen extension or garden room needs a wide glazed opening onto the garden. Sliding doors glide panels past each other and, in most configurations, always leave at least one panel's width of frame in the opening even when fully open.
